Garlic On Acne
Garlic has amazing antibiotic, antiviral, and antifungal properties and can help to kill the bacteria that causes acne. While you can rub garlic on your pimple for three minutes to help dry it out, we have experienced that it will burn your skin. Instead, mix garlic with rose water, put the mixture onto a cotton ball and apply the cotton ball to your pimple for a few minutes.
Ice Cubes To Reduce Pores
Ice cubes may seem too simple, but they are incredibly effective for acne. Rub an ice cube around your face until it melts to visibly reduce swelling and shrink your pores. When you reduce the swelling, you help to reduce the size of the pimple, which reduces it’s lifespan. Furthermore, ice helps to reduce the alarming redness that pimples always seem to come with. Basically, icing a pimple will reduce it’s lifespan and reduce how much real estate it takes on your face.
Water and Aspirin
Water and aspirin are a secret acne fighting team. Aspirin has an ingredient that is chemically similar to salicylic acid, which is an ingredient that many over the counter acne medications contain. To get the most out of this acne fighting duo crush 4-5 uncoated aspirin pills. Use enough water to turn it into a paste, about a tablespoon or two. Rub into your skin and allow to dry. Rinse away the mask with warm water and using circular motions. Bonus: this mask helps to remove blackheads as well as treat acne. Before applying this mask to your entire face, test a patch on your forearm to ensure that you are not allergic to aspirin.
Egg Whites on Acne
The egg white acne treatment is a tried and true method. Egg whites help to clean up dirt, clear debris from the pores, soak up extra oil, and tone the skin. Plus, egg whites may even act as a mold astringent. To make an egg white mask: separate a raw egg, and apply the egg whites to your face. You can either paint them onto your face, or rub it in with your hands. Allow the whites to dry and either peel or rinse off using a wash cloth. We would recommend following up with a quick face wash, some toner, and a light moisturizer.
Honey and Yogurt
Yogurt has high levels of lactic acid, which is known to exfoliate skin, refine pores, and helps to stimulate collagen production. Honey is a wonderful skin moisturizer, plus it has antimicrobial properties that fight acne at its source. Put these two power house ingredients together and you have a DIY acne treatment that is bound to make your skin look and feel fabulous. To use: mix the yogurt and honey. Apply to your face. Let it sit for around 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
